I first knew I wanted to be a graphic designer when…
I was in high school. One day, I spent the entire 6 hours from first to final bell designing our student newspaper, and I loved every minute of it. I was never bored. There was always a new creative problem to be solved. After I realized the day had flown by, I thought, "I could do that for 8 hours a day, every day."
Nearly 12 years later, I still find myself getting lost in design. After high school I continued my design eduction at Indiana University, before moving to Phoenix to work for the Gannett Co. Inc. I spent 5 years with Gannett as a Designer and Design Team Leader, finishing my tenure there with the Arizona Republic newspaper. In 2017 my work on “The Wall” series contributed to a Newsroom Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting for the Republic.
Now I get to take a more personal approach to design, working with small businesses and individuals to accomplish their design goals.
